3 D - Shadow Box Frame

Hi ...Dearies

Today I have a new project to share with you all.  Its a three dimensional work which I played with and hope you all will enjoy as I take you thru the project.

Defining 3D :
"Form" is a term used to describe three-dimensional artwork. Forms can be geometric or organic. Three-dimensional art has volume, which is the amount of space occupied by the form. The form also has mass, which means that the volume is solid and occupies space. Simulating  the effect of depth by presenting slightly different view of a scene to each eye.

Here I share a normal photo frame which I have converted into a 3d shadow box photo frame......and yeah...there's Valentine's fever catching up with Romance in air everywhere.
So I picked the new Papericious Valentines Special paper pack / chippies for this project....and just loved playing with it.

I have the pics here as to how I worked on the project:

This was the frame I choose to work on......

Applied Prima Heavy gesso black and painted the frame full....heat set it and applied Finnabair Texture paste, and art stones and later applied dry brush of alchemy copper acrylic paint. After it dried sprinkled some micro beads on the frame for more texture with 3D gel.

Thaadaaaa.....my frame was all set...with a new look 😍😍😍

Now next was to make the main part.....Shadow Box....

Here I measured the chipboard as per the measurement of your photo frame glass since the box has to fit into your frame evenly inside....so I cut chipboard and painted it black with acrylic and the shadow box was ready......once I had the box ready..... I stuck the backside with Papericious designer paper, picked the floral paper which was along with the paper pack and fussy cut them and adhered it on top and the below sides for a 3 Dimensional effect....... I water coloured the couple and fussy cut them too and adhered everything within the box....

Finally  I picked the coordinating chippies from the same collection and heat embossed with Ranger Gold embossing powder and adhered them all inside the box and finally stuck the backside of the frame and the glass in the front.

Violaaaaa.......the Amor De Oro......it turned out lovely 😍

I have the after completion close up shots for you all......

My Snow - Mixed Media

Hi Dearies

Today I'm sharing this new project which has few cool techniques and I truly loved working on this and the outcome was indeed lovely to see...

I used glue gun technique on top of the canvas with some glitter adhered with 3D gel and loved the sparkle and icicle effect.  Then stuck few tissue paper crushed and dry set it and coated with heavy white gesso for a rough texture. Chose my centre pic, adhered it with DCWV Arctic paper stack stripes, distressed the edges with my Ranger Distresser and stuck it with foam for dimension.  I used ColourArte Twinkling H2O's  (Blue) and roughly coloured the outline from the centre pic for the blue shades....by then the tissue paper was totally dry. Now I used my Archival Coffee bean and Orange inks and distressed the right corner of my canvas for a shady effect which could coordinate with my centre pic. Now gave a dry coat of white gesso for a texture and lightened the whole canvas. Stuck handmade flowers, Spanish dry moss, wooden chippies, beads, pine cones, glitter snowflake cut into pieces and adhered it across the centre pic, Styrofoam balls in different sizes - adhered all these with 3D gel.  Hand wrote the tittle with my new calligraphy pen and distressed the edges, fussy cut few butterflies coordinating the whole layout and.....thaadaaaa......it was looking lovely indeed.

Sharing a few closeup shots:

Mixed Media - Tag1

Hi Everyone....

Today I share a  mixed media Tag with you all.

I adhered watercolour paper on to the tag, and sprayed mists on to the watercolour paper and removed the excess and allowed to set. Then I applied distress inks on to the stencil and created a back ground for the tag and used a small mandala motif stamp and randomly stamped on the tag.  Now I used DustyAttic Stencil - Distressed Grid  and applied Prima Heavy white jesso.. and heat set it.  Now adhered few flowers, leaves and twine on to the tag.  Lightly applied soft gel and sprinkled little blue/green/ golden glitter randomly on to the tag. Took a white gel pen and outlined the tag completely for an uplift and wrote a sentiment with my new calligraphy pen ....which I'm quite experimenting now for all my projects.

And finally loved the way the Tag came up.

I'm enclosing this little art to the following:

For U - Venetian Card

Hi All.....

Today I'm here to share with you a 6.5 X 6.5" card with a matching Card box which I did for one of my buddy. I used white Neena Card stock as base and layered it with pink and white card stock on top of each other. I used  Dove Craft- Floral Muse Designer paper and distressed the edges with Ranger Distress tool.  Now I die cut the doily from Spell Binder doily die and a mask from Spellbinders Venetian Collection. I adhered  lace at two corners of the distressed edges..Now glued all the roses and embellies on to my card. Lastly, I used zig marker pen and outlined the card for a stitch effect..

I matched it with a card box  and adhered a label from Spellbinder label die and taaaddaa...my card was ready to be gifted.

Few close up shots :

I am enclosing this card for the following :

Mixed Media - Passion !

Hi All......

Good Morning.....and I'm back with yet another canvas ....totally adored the way this piece turned up.

I have used these products in the above project:

Prima White gesso, Prima 3d Heavy Gel, Wendy Vecchi's crackled Texture paste, Crafters Workshop Stencil - Rock TCW573S, Finnabiar Artstones, Dusty Attic Heart Attack Border, ColourArte - Silk Glaze acrylics - Turquoise/Blue, Handmade Foam Flowers, Resin frame, Mulberry flowers/leaves, DCWV Paper strip, Glitter Balls/Prills, Pearls, Border Chips, Metal embellishments, Fussy cut Butterflies.

I coated Prima White gesso  first and dry set the canvas, then used Crafters Workshop stencil and applied the Crackled Texture paste and allowed to dry. Later gave a nice wash of ColourArte Silk Glaze acrylics and started arranging my centre pic adhered it to a strip of  DCWV card stock and played around arranging my layout with handmade foam flowers, metal embellis, prills, chippies.  I used Dusty Attic heart attack border strip, I cut the hearts individually and heat embossed it with Zing Silver embossing powder and randomly adhered it on to the layout.  I also used pearls to enhance it a bit more and used  gel white pen for highlights around the pearl. Lastly stuck micro glitter prills with 3D heavy gel and randomly placed the fussy cut butterflies around the layout......

I'm quite happy....that I have been experimenting a lot off late....being a beginner and without a tutor just by following few really cool and nice artists around the globe.

I'm enclosing few close up's here....

Hope you all enjoyed this little effort of mine.
